Remove Morpheus Software

Morpheus is a type of peer-to-peer program that allows the user to download files from other users across the Internet. While the program can be very useful, it can also increase the risk of contracting a computer virus, as no one can know exactly where the downloaded files come from. In addition, this program can be large and take up much needed space on your computer. Whatever the reason, it may become necessary to remove Morpheus entirely from the computer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check to see if the program comes with an uninstall function. Go to Start and scroll over to highlight "All Programs" until a menu pops up.

  2. Step 2

Scroll through the menu and highlight the tab that says "Morpheus." An additional menu will appear on the right; scroll through the list and see if there is an uninstall tab. If there is, simply press it and follow the onscreen instructions to remove the software. Whether there was an uninstall button or not, move on through all of the steps to verify that the program has been removed.

  3. Step 3

Click on the Start button and select "Control Panel." Double-click the icon titled "Programs."

  4. Step 4

Double-click the option for "Uninstall a Program." A list of all of the programs installed on your computer will appear. Scroll through and click on the Morpheus program to uninstall it, or identify that the program is no longer listed if you think you have successfully uninstalled it in Step 2.

  5. Step 5

Check to make sure that all folders for the Morpheus program have been removed from your system's hard drive. Click on "My Computer," "C-Drive" and then "Program Files." Scroll through the list of files and delete any folder that says "Morpheus." Once this is complete, restart your computer.
