How to Dance With a Girl at a Party
Approaching a girl at a party can be intimidating for many guys. However, the dance floor is the perfect place to loosen up and approach girls you've been admiring from a distance. By making your way through a packed dance floor, you can use the gradual approach to gauge the interest of your target dance partner. With a few well-timed techniques, you can even end up dancing in her arms by the end of the night.
Instructions

-
1
Head to the dance floor with a few friends and begin to move to the rhythm of the music.
-
2
Dance your way into the crowd casually. Relax your torso and let your knees bend on the major beats of the song. Relax your shoulders and move your hands in a decisive, repetitive motion.
-
-
3
Move to within three or four feet of the girl you would like to dance with.
-
4
Make eye contact with the girl you would like to dance with and smile.
-
5
Edge within 2 1/2 feet of the girl you would like to dance with and face her as you dance.
-
6
Judge whether or not she is interested in dancing with you. Look for signs like smiling or leaning towards you as she dances to indicate interest. Spot signals that indicate disinterest such as movement away from you and turning her back to you. Proceed if you receive positive signals.
-
7
Lean in toward your dance partner, leading with your shoulders first and then your chest.
-
8
Take her hands loosely in yours as you dance.
-
9
Place your arms gently around her waist as you dance in unison.

Tips & Warnings
If you are receiving positive signals and the girl seems comfortable, you can amplify closeness by placing your hands on her hips. Request a favorite song to relax you as you approach the girl to dance. If you do not receive a response from the girl you approach, move on to another space on the dance floor and approach another woman. Watch other men on the dance floor who seem comfortable and mimic their moves.
Never insist on dancing with a girl who is making movements away from you. Don't ask a girl to dance at a loud party, as she may not hear you due to music levels and crowd noise. Avoid bumping and grinding against a girl unless she initiates it. Avoid dancing with a drink in your hand as you might spill it on your partner.

Good tips. I'm almost cringing right now, remembering how I used to approach girls from behind. Haha! Don't do that!
