Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear beading cord
  • Larger beads
  • Smaller seed beads
  • Clasp
  • Chain nosed pliers
  • Scissors
  • Beading glue
  1. Step 1

Pull a length of clear beading cord four inches longer than the desired size of the necklace.

  2. Step 2

String a small seed bead onto the cord, and slide it towards the spool.

  3. Step 3

Take the free end of the beading cord, and pull it through the seed bead's opening, tugging it away from the spool.

  4. Step 4

String a large bead onto the beading cord until it butts up against the seed bead.

  5. Step 5

String another seed bead onto the cord so that it nestles against the larger bead to create a three-bead "bead station."

  6. Step 6

Secure your bead station by threading the free end of the cord back through the last seed bead in a motion away from the spool.

  7. Step 7

Move 1 1/2 inches down the bead cord and create another bead station by repeating Steps 2 through 6.

  8. Step 8

Create bead stations every 1 1/2 inches until you have completed the length of the necklace.

  9. Step 9

Cut the bead cord from the spool 2 1/4 inches from the first seed bead.

  10. Step 10

Attach a clasp. Knot both ends of the necklace and secure them with a dab of specialty beading glue. Use chain nose pliers to slide the clasp hook through one knotted end of the necklace and the clasp loop through the other end's knot.

  11. Step 11

Secure the clasp by gently applying pressure with chain nose pliers to the clasp parts to close their metal loops.

Tips & Warnings
  • Experiment with different beads and spacing to create a unique look.
  • Never clamp down hard on delicate jewelry clasps. Keep small seed beads away from small children and infants to avoid ingestion.
