This mask will soothe and calm you and your skin while hydrating, lightening freckles and blemishes, and giving a big boost of Vitamin A!

A combination of yogurt, honey, and carrots in this cold mask is an easy mask for all skin types. You can choose to make it oil-free or with your favorite oils.

*Carrots contain anti-oxidants, and are the richest vegetable source of Vitamin A. The juice is surprisingly creamy and sweet (and addicting). Drinking just 8 ounces of pure carrot juice a day will give you 700% of your recommended daily value of vitamin A based on a 2,000-calorie diet.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plain yogurt
  • Honey
  • Carrots/Carrot Juice (Bolthouse sells it grocery stores if you do not have a juicer)
  • Lemon
  • Corn Starch
  • Mixing Bowl
  • (optional) Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • (optional) Almond Oil
  • (optional) your favorite essential oil
  1. Step 1

Warm the honey by opening the container and placing in the microwave for 10-20 seconds.

  2. Step 2

In the mixing bowl, add 1-2 Tbsp honey, 1 small container of plain yogurt, 1/2 tsp of lemon juice, and 2-4 Tbsp of carrot juice. Mix well.

*If desired, add a few drops of oil to the mixture, but never add more than 3 oils. Almond is recommended for aging/dry skin and is one of the least greasy oils to use.

  3. Step 3

To thicken, add corn starch gradually. Add just enough so that the mixture does not run quickly off the spoon. Don't add too much or else your mask will not be very potent.

  4. Step 4

Place mixture in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, or in the refrigerator overnight.

  5. Step 5

When ready to use, mix well and apply to the face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 1/2 hour. It may dry completely. Wipe off with a wet cloth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a high-quality thick yogurt for best results.
  • May substitute mayonnaise for higher levels of hydration, but may clog pores.
  • Drink the rest of that carrot juice, it is one of the richest sources of Vitamin A, and it has a surprisingly sweet and creamy flavor!
  • If you choose to use an oil in your mask, use almond oil. I have used a high-quality extra virgin olive oil and it has softened my skin nicely as well.
  • Use as little corn starch as possible in order to keep the potency of your ingredients at their maximum.
  • Do not add too much lemon juice as this can cause burning and irritation. If this occurs, wash off immediately.
  • Oils may clog pores and cause allergic reactions.
