Step 1
1. First, look through Craigslist at www.craigslist.org. Find the listings for your City and peruse some of the ads to get a feel for it. Read the rules and the FAQ section.
-
Step 2
Next, you must have an item or service to offer. Try finding free or very cheap things to list. If you cannot sell it for a profit, you will not make extra income with Craigslist.
-
Step 3
Go to garage sales. However, before you do this, get a good idea of what items are selling for in your area on Craigslist. Look through the ads, and see which types of items are offered, and the prices. Then bargain hard at the garage sale to buy similar items.
-
Step 4
Go dumpster diving! During the last week of the month, as people are moving out of their apartments, you will be surprised at what you might find. Living room furniture, toys, bikes, working electronics.
-
Step 5
Make sure that when someone comes to look at the things you have for sale on Craigslist, they are presentable. Clean them up; make some small repairs…maybe even a quick coat of paint. Remember buying decisions are usually emotional, and a little dust can lower your price
-
Step 6
Lastly, post your ad. Look for the most relevant category, and click on the “Post it” link at the top. Follow the instructions, and begin enjoying the fruits of your labor.
