Step 1
Do your own research on psychic development and read as many books as you can. You may also feel that you'll respond better to some writers over others and their approaches.

Once you have a basic understanding of psychic abilities and other experiences, you'll need to start meditating. Meditating isn't as easy as closing your eyes, there much more to it. There's many books on meditation,it doesn't matter which way you decide, it matters how well you do it. I would suggest you meditate at least 2 times a day for at least 20 minutes. Once you have gotten this down and quieted your mind, then you'll start to really open up.

Now while meditating you should start a small prayer in order to protect you. Once protected you can now in vision a shield around you that protects and holds you. Then I suggest that you call on your family, friends,loved ones and guides to come into your field and communicate.

Communication with spirits isn't an exact science. You don't know each other well, and as a result need time to get accustomed to each others energy. It is here at this stage that you need to have confidence in what you see, hear or feel. Since communication with spirits requires attention to details, you must be willing to push yourself.

Everyone develops psychic medium abilities in different ways, some people
feel things better, some hear things better, and many have stronger sight for messages from the other side. In order to be well rounded I suggest when you meditate, imagine being in your favorite room in your house. In that room hear the sounds that naturally go on, see your room in details,touch the room in your mind. These little exercises help you expand your clairvoyance(seeing), clairaudio (hearing), and clairsentience (feeling). -

Once you feel you have things in control, go out on social sites and offer people your services for free. I know when i offer my services for for free people come out of the woodwork. Tell them you are learning and need practice, many will let you help them and offer their thoughts on your accuracy. I also suggest you find groups that hold Seances, so you can practice there too. Please try out your skills on strangers, it works best because you don't know them and if you are accurate every reading will build your confidence. friends will try to hard to please you and it may discourage you and them.

Now its down to business. Here you'll want to find shows, fairs, media and other venues in order to get your name out. In this business referrals are the best, so getting yourself out there is a major component. Use to social sites to network with everyone out there. I have been able to meet and have great relationships with people all around the country.
