Remember Tic Tac Toe, a fun game with X's and O's? The game can be played by children and adults.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large flat rock or patio block
  • Small long and round rocks
  • Outdoor Paint
  1. Step 1

Get a large flat surfaced rock that is about one foot by one foot. If you live in the country, you might be able to find one outdoors along the road, near the water or in your own backyard. If you are unable to find a rock around that size, use a patio block.

  2. Step 2

Look for five small rocks that are similar in color and shape that are round and five that are elongated. You can use the round ones for the O's and the long ones for the X's. If you prefer to make your X's from sticks, you can find a nice thick branch and cut pieces about one to two inches long. Whittle out the center of one of the sticks so that you can place another stick across the middle.

  3. Step 3

Use outdoor paint to make the lines on the rock. You can be very creative with the colors you use. If you want to keep the game natural looking, you can carve permanent lines into your rock or patio block.

  4. Step 4

You now have an outdoor Tic Tac Toe Board for your family and friends to play with, and it should last you a lifetime. It can also serve as a patio or backyard display. Hope you were able to find all of the game pieces without spending any money. Have fun!

Tips & Warnings
  • Search around your yard and neighborhood to find the natural rocks you need before you purchase them from a store
  • Enjoy outdoor games with your kids
  • Your kids can help you find all the game pieces you need
  • If you decide to whittle and carve, be careful
  • Children seek assistance from your parents if you are using sharp items
