People in a relationship often fight over money issues. This can cause tension and hard feelings between both partners, and sometimes can even destroy relationships. Learn how you can find out how to quit blaming your partner, and instead work together to come to a financial solution.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Stop Blaming

Your first step is to stop pointing fingers. Try to remain relaxed and not come off angry. This is not good for any situation. Anger only hurts a person. It does not solve problems. Be calm, be respectful, and stop blaming the other person. Figure out a way you can work together to come up with a solution. That is what a relationship is about: working together and solving problems together.

  2. Step 2

    Make a Plan

Sit down with your partner and realize where the mistakes are, and together you can come up with a plan that will help you with your money situation. For example, if the reason you are having issues to begin with is because of over-spending, then you both can find ways on cutting back in order to save up some money. This could mean not eating out much or going shopping at the mall on the weekends.

  3. Step 3

    Counseling

If the irritating complaints and finger pointing gets worst, maybe it is time to seek professional's help and plan for a counseling. Do you think you will need to spend money just to resolve your financial issues? Why not if it will give you both peace in mind?
