Things You'll Need:
- lemons
- sugar or artificial sweetener
- crushed or shaved ice
- water
- (2) 8 oz cups same in make, shape, etc
- extra lemon slices for garnish (optional)
-
Step 1
First, cut lemons in half. You will need 1 half for each lemon shake up. This recipe works best if the lemons are freshly cut as needed, but can use a left over half, as well.
-
Step 2
Next, place half a cup of crushed ice in 1 of the 8 oz cups. If you have larger cups, adjust the recipe accordingly.
-
Step 3
Squeeze lemon completely into the cup. You can also use a fork to scrape out entire lemon pulp content into cup. Remove any seeds. Place the lemon inside the cup after juice and pulp are squeezed.
-
Step 4
Next, add 1/2 cup of cup of water and 1 tablespoon of sugar. If you use artificial sweetener, check the conversion. Some sweeteners are equal conversion, while others are not. You can add more water or sugar to taste.
-
Step 5
Next, place the second cup on top of the one containing your lemonade. Shake back and forth, approximately 6 good shakes or until all ingredients are mixed well. When all ingredients are mixed, serve in cup and enjoy. You can garnish with a slice of lemon on the rim, if desired.
