Sometimes when you got company coming on short notice you are scrambling around trying to do everything at once. You got 10 minutes at most to clean up that kitchen and make it presentable. What will you do? It is not as you can pretend no one is home. Seriously, if you got 10 minutes you have time to get that kitchen in shape, at least one elementary aged child underfoot.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bleach cleanser
  • Scrubber pad
  • Large box or oven (non-gas)
  • Vinegar
  • The child
  1. Step 1

Grab the coffee pot, and fill it with water. Start the coffee machine so that that scent is in the air.

  2. Step 2

Send the child out to grab fresh flowers from the yard if it is safe. They are out of your way, and are doing something productive.

  3. Step 3

Put all dirty dishes in the oven if it is a non-gas stove. If you have a gas stove, place dirty dishes in a box and store them in the pantry. Just remember you put them in the pantry and wash them after wards.

  4. Step 4

Scrub the counters and sink with the bleach cleaner. Go ahead sweep and quick mop the floor. Vacuum the floor if you have carpet.

  5. Step 5

Set the vase on the counter so the child can fill it up with water, and then put the fresh flowers in there.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to wash the dishes, after the company leaves!
  • Have a sense of humor about the whole thing.

on 5/25/2009 This is very funny. I love the suggestion of putting all of the dirty dishes in the oven. :-)
