How to Convert TS to MPG
A TS, or Transport Stream, file is a type of video file originally intended for tape and broadcast usage; it contains functionality to enable error correction, useful when the quality of data transmission is uncertain. This file format is not widely-compatible with modern devices and operating systems and, as such, it may be preferable to convert your TS files to the more widely-used MPG (or MPEG) format. With the help of the shareware application, "Total Video Converter," the conversion process is straightforward.

Tips & Warnings
You can adjust various settings, such as frame rate, sample rate and bit rate, from the "Advanced Settings" window; click on the button labeled "Advanced" in the lower-left corner of the application window. Depending on factors such as duration, resolution and user settings, your computer may need considerable time to perform the conversion process on certain media files; reducing some settings, such as frame size, may speed the process along. If the converted file is too large for your needs, you can reduce the file size by lowering the video size and bit rate settings; however, this may result in degraded video quality.
