When painting, preparation is important to ensure that the new paint job will look its best. Nail holes, cracks and dirt will affect the look of the finished wall. Paint often will not adhere properly to a dirty wall, and things such as grease will eventually seep through the paint and stain the new paint job. If you clean the wall before painting and spend a few minutes correcting any imperfections, you will extend the life of the new paint and it will look its best for years to come.
