      Open Microsoft Paint. Click "Start," "Programs," "Accessories" and then Paint.

      Open the image. Click "File" and "Open." Navigate to the image you wish to modify and click "Open."

      Resize the image. Click "Image" and select "Stretch/Skew." Choose the percentage that you want to resize the image to. For example, if want to resize an image from 1000 pixels wide to 800 pixels wide then you would choose 80%. Enter the same percentage for both height and width so that the aspect ratio of the image is preserved. .

      Save the image. Click "File" and "Save As." Save the image as a different filename so that you still have the original copy

Tips & Warnings

  • You can bring up the Start->Run dialog box using a keyboard shortcut by holding down the Window key and pressing R.

  • Don't try to use Attributes under the Image menu to resize the image. This will just crop the image rather than resizing it.
