Step 1
The Pet store.Plan to take your child to the pet store to familiarize them with the variety of pets. The purpose of buying an age appropriate pet is so that the pet can be partially or completely cared for by the child.
-
Step 2
Research pets.Go online and read about different pets. Read about their habits and about the care of them with your child. A Younger child would be better in helping with smaller pets that don't need much care. An older child can care for a cat or dog of any size.
-
Step 3
Learning to nurture with pets.Help your small child be a part of every step in caring for their pet. They may not be able to do it all but can be involved in the more difficult things even if it's just watching. This will teach your child to be able nurture.
