Things You'll Need:
- Used envelopes from greeting cards or any other type of envelope. You can make two bookmarks with one envelope.
- Scissors, crayons, markers, colored pencils or whatever else you like to use to color.
-
Step 1
Start with a Blank EnvelopeWith the scissor, cut off the bottom corners of the envelope. You will have two, triangular-shaped pieces. The open end of the triangle fits perfectly over the corner of a book page to be used as your book mark.
-
Step 2
Now it's time to make your new book mark fun to look at and use! With your crayons, markers and/or colored pencils, decorate your book mark. We always liked to make animal faces on our bookmarks so that when you open your book to the marked page, there is a cute face looking back at you! Use your imagination: draw rainbows; write your name; write 'to' and 'from' and give as a gift;
-
Step 3
This is an easy craft that you and your child can make together. One of the nicest things about this craft is that it is something that you will really use! Encourage your child to make some of these bookmarks as gifts for family or friends either for a holiday or just as a special hand-made gift to someone they love. Making crafts with your children is a great way to spend time together and learn about each other.
