Making popsicles at home is easy and fun. You can also save money by having them at home and ready when the ice-cream truck comes by.

These are so fun to make with your children, let them help!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package of instant gelatin
  • 1 package drink mix (kool-aid type)
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • popsicle molds, there are some made by tupperware, there are many kinds available online and at department stores. Or you can use small paper cups and popsicle sticks, just put foil around the top of
  1. Step 1

Heat 2 cups of water in a pan. It needs to be hot enough to melt and dissolve the sugar and gelatin. The water doesn't have to be boiling, but it should be near boiling.

  2. Step 2

When water is near boiling add sugar, gelatin, and drink mix and stir until dissolved. While stirring be sure to scrape sides and bottom of pan.

  3. Step 3

It is now time to add cool the water. Stir well. We are almost done!

  4. Step 4

Pour carefully into popsicle molds. If it is easier you can use a funnel to minimize spillage. Then put in freezer until completely frozen. This part takes the longest! Don't worry they will be done soon!

Tips & Warnings
  • I like to try different flavor combinations, like grape-strawberry.
  • Let the kids choose the flavors.
  • This makes a lot, make sure you have enough molds!
  • Most of the flavor combinations are red, purple, or green and tend to stain, so pour carefully!
