Step 1
Child support is important and it benefits the welfare of your child. Although, the economy is tough and the fact that your money may not go as far as it used to paying your child support should still be a top priorty. Why? A child needs the basics: food, housing, medical care and so on. Pay ahead if you can to avoid future non payments.

Step 2
If you can't pay the whole weekly amount pay something and communicate with the other parent. Something is better than nothing. Although times are tough your child does not need to suffer. Cut back on spending and plan ahead. Buy items on sale or limit non essential spending. If you can pick up a few extra hours a work do so and save the money for a rainy day. This way if you get laid off or become unemployed for a period

Step 3
