Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • vinyl doll kit
  • acrylic paints
  • matte sealer
  • stand for drying doll parts
  • cosmetic sponges
  • small paint brushes
  • paint pallet
  1. Step 1

Wash and prepare your vinyl doll kit with warm soapy water. This will remove any oils from handling and the manufacturing process to be removed. Dry each piece with a soft lint free towel. Place on rack to allow to air dry completely.

  2. Step 2

Select and prepare your acrylic paints. You want to choose skin tone colors to achieve the skin color. A color for blushing the cheeks, soles of the feet and palms of the hands. You will also need a color for the lips. Begin painting each limb. You want to get a very light base layer of paint. Applying acrylics to thickly, will give your baby an unnatural "chalky" look.

  3. Step 3

Gradually build up your desired color on each piece. As you paint, pay close attention to the ears, fingers and neck areas. You want to make sure the paint does not "puddle" around these areas. Keep your application smooth. Once each piece is painted you can allow them to dry overnight on the drying rack. Seal each piece with an acrylic paint sealer. Use sealer sparingly to avoid a shiny baby.

  4. Step 4

If you are going to root hair on you baby's head move on to that step. If not you baby is ready to be assembled. stuffed and dressed.
