Step 1
Compose Some Basic Thank You Card Messages First
The first step in crafting your stack of sincere thank you card messages is to compose one or several basic thank you messages to use in the cards. A sentence or two that touches upon the event and the celebration will suffice.
Some examples:
Thank you for joining us to celebrate (our wedding, the baby's Baptism, etc). Having all of our loved ones with us on this special day was truly a blessing.
We want to thank you for being a part of (our silver anniversary celebration, Timmy's first birthday, etc.). Being surrounded with friends and family really made the day a special one. -
Step 2
Personalize Each of the Thank You Card Messages
Look for something unique to say to each person to whom you will be sending your thanks. Thank Aunt Bess for bringing her pineapple upside down cake. Tell Grandpa Ed you appreciate the stories he entertained everyone with during the reception. The point is to make the recipient feel as though you took the time to write specifically to her and you didn't just send thank you card messages in a cookie cutter fashion to everyone on the list. -
Step 3
Mention the Gift Last in Your Thank You Card Messages
Once you have included your basic greeting and mentioned something specific, be sure to thank the person to whom you are writing for the gift. Mention the gift by name. For example, thank you for the stationary set, thank you for the ink pen, etc.
