How to Delete a Contact on a Mac

The Address Book application, which comes installed on all new Mac computers, stores a variety of contact information, including phone numbers, e-mail address and instant-messaging screen names. Mac users can save contact information for both people and businesses, and they can also delete a contact card if they no longer want it in their Address Book.

      Open the Address Book application by clicking on the Dock icon.

      Select the contact card you wish to delete by clicking on the person or business's name.

      Go to the "Edit" menu at the top and select the "Delete Card" option. A pop-up window will open asking you to confirm your decision.

      Click on the "Delete" button in the confirmation window to permanently delete the contact from your Address Book.
