How to Decorate Kitchen Cupboards

Many kitchens are considered to be both the heart and soul of a home. Keeping this in mind is important when decorating this significant room. When decorating your kitchen, be careful not to overlook the kitchen cupboards. Just because they are functional does not mean they can't be beautiful as well. Ignoring your kitchen cupboards can greatly limit the overall effect of all the decorating you have done in your kitchen.

Instructions

1. Choose neutral and fresh colors for your kitchen cupboards. Remember, wood stains are not the only options for you cupboards. By using neutral, fresh colors you can make your kitchen look larger. Choose a color for your kitchen cupboards that will complement the wall color as well as the other colors you've selected for your kitchen.

2. Liven up the doors of your kitchen cupboards. Replace the standard wooden doors with plexi-glass or chicken wire. Opening up the cupboards like this will make your kitchen appear larger and more airy.

3. Add decorative artwork to your kitchen cupboards. Stencil objects such as flowers, tea cups and the like to your kitchen cupboards. Try adding geometric shapes. Be careful to follow the theme you've selected for your kitchen. Remember to add your decorative artwork to the sides of your kitchen cupboards as well.

4. Add decorative door pulls to your kitchen cupboards. If using a garden theme for your kitchen, add flower door pulls to your kitchen cupboards. For a country kitchen, glue buttons to the door pulls or cover with fabric that matches your kitchen curtains. Make sure that all of your door pulls match each other.
