Start with a clean face. Do not apply any eye makeup before curling your eyelashes, because you may smudge it.

Use a metal eyelash curler. Plastic models will not hold heat in the same way and can be less efficient.

Turn your blow dryer onto high heat and blast your eyelash curler with warm air for several seconds.

Touch the eyelash curler to your inner wrist to check for temperature. This part of the body is more sensitive than your fingertips, so you will be able to tell if the curler is too hot apply near your eyes.

Curl your eyelashes as normal. Squeeze gently for a few seconds near the base of the lashes.

Check whether you need to reheat your curler in between eyes. The curler will cool down quickly and may need another short blast with your hair dryer.
