Ever wanted to listen to your iPod in your car but didn't want to fork over the cash to pay for an expensive adapter? Or perhaps you didn't to lose the audio quality by using a cassette adapter?

The easiest way to play your iPod in your car--and most affordable--is by simply using an auxiliary cable. This option allows for both quality and affordability.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A 3.5mm auxillary (AUX) jack in your car
  • A 3.5mm auxillary cable (around $5-$10)
  • An iPod
  1. Step 1

Plug one end of the auxiliary cable into the AUX jack in your car.

  2. Step 2

Plug the other end to your iPod's earphone jack. Turn your iPod on, turn your iPod volume all the way up, and set a song on play. Sit your iPod in a secure location (such as a cup holder).

  3. Step 3

Set your sound system's output to auxiliary or AUX. If your iPod's volume is turned up and it is playing, you should now be able to hear your iPod music playing out of your car's sound system.

Tips & Warnings
  • The lower the volume is set on your iPod, the lower the sound quality will be as it comes out of your speakers.
  • You can purchase cheap iPod car charges to keep your iPod charging as it plays at most stores that carry iPods.
