    1. Throw away the antibacterial soap. Studies have shown that kids who use antibacterial soap get sick more often.

    Make sure you keep your children on a bedtime schedule. Letting children stay up late leads to vulnerable infections. Toddlers and preschool children need about 12 hours with a nap, children who are school age need about 10 hours and preteens need 9 hours.

    Beneficial bacterial such as yogurt or kefir help prevent stomach aches, diarrhea, food allergies, eczema, and respiratory problems.

    Make sure their diet has enough zinc. Children need between 5 - 8 mg of zinc from yogurt, peas, beef, or shrimp to prevent infection, diarrhea, and pneumonia.
