How to Unfreeze an iPod Classic

Every once in a while your iPod Classic freezes up for no apparent reason. Fortunately, there is a quick way to reset your iPod Classic and get it back to playing music again.

Things You'll Need

• Your iPod Classic
• If Necessary: A Computer and iTunes

Instructions

1. Unplug your iPod Classic from your computer if it is plugged in.

2. Lay your iPod Classic on a flat, stable surface.

3. Toggle the "Hold" switch. Move the switch from "Off" to "Hold" and back to "Off" again.

4. Press and hold the "Menu" and "Select" buttons until the Apple logo appears. This may take up to 10 seconds, so be patient.

5. Release the buttons one the Apple logo appears and allow your iPod Classic to restart.

Tips & Warnings

• Plugging your iPod into a power source sometimes helps during the reset steps.

• Do not try to disassemble your iPod. This will void your warranty and might cause further damage.
