Step 1
Start by applying a light colored liquid foundation. A shade one step lighter than your natural skin color is best and will lighten up your face and make you look more awake and youthful. Look for a water based foundation or better still, use a tinted moisturizer. You do not want a thick foundation that cracks. It should not be obvious that you are even wearing foundation. You can even mix a bit of foundation with your favorite moisturizer in the palm of your hand and then apply it to your face. If you have nice skin but only a few spots of redness here and there then all you need to do is cover those spots.
-
Step 2
Now add a bit of eye shadow. I suggest a cream eye shadow in a neutral color for daytime because like the foundation, a light color or almost-not-there shade will give you a more natural and youthful look. Try a skin tone cream eye shadow on your lid then highlight the crease of your lid with a bit of cream eye shadow in a white color. Also dab just a bit of white on the inner corner of each eye to make your eyes look wide open. Stay away from powder eye shadows during the day because it can cake up and make creases. The last thing you need on your eyes are creases!
-
Step 3
Finish off your eyes by applying a brown mascara just to the tips of your lashes. This will make your eyes pop without making your eyelashes look clumped. Most eyelashes have light tips so just putting mascara on the tips is really all you need to make them look thicker and longer. It's a great day time look!
-
Step 4
As for your lips, keep those natural looking too. Try using a pink or peach shade... never wear a dark lip color for work and stay completely away from red! You may opt for a nice lip gloss or a tinted chap stick. You can even make your own gloss by putting a tiny piece of your favorite shade of lip stick in a small tin and mixing it with petroleum jelly. Then just apply with your finger as needed!
-
Step 5
If you want to put some blush on your face that is fine. But here's the secret! Whatever you use on your lips is what you should use on your checks. There is no need for a separate blush. Just put a dab of your lip stick or lip gloss on each cheek and blend. Then you can also put a dab of your white cream eye shadow on the apple of each check and blend it in. It will give your cheeks a nice glow with just a hint of brightness!
-
Step 6
Try these tips and you will surely look your best. You may even knock a good 5 to 10 years off your appearance. The whole makeup process should only take you a few minutes so don't skip out the door with an untouched face! And be sure you bring your makeup bag with you to work so you can do quick touch ups throughout the day. You will not only look better but you will feel better too!
