Birthday party favors are a fun way to thank your child's friends for coming to the party. Using empty toilet paper rolls provides you with a sturdy and free carrier for the favors, and lets you recycle something that was destined for the trash. But these surprises don't have to be confined to just children's parties; the length and width of the cardboard tube can accommodate favors for adult birthday parties and other events as well. Things You'll Need

  • Empty toilet paper rolls, one for each guest
  • Small wrapped candy pieces or toys
  • Wrapping paper
  • Clear tape
  • Curling ribbon

Instructions

      Remove any bits of toilet paper from the empty roll.

      Fill the roll with wrapped candy or small toys. No candy or toys should extend beyond the cardboard tube.

      Measure out the wrapping paper, enough to go around the toilet paper roll and extend three inches on both sides.

      Roll the toilet paper tube in the wrapping paper, securing the middle with the tape. Tie off each end with a length of curling ribbon.

      Place the toilet paper roll party favors at each guest's place at the table, labeled with his name. You can also add a note to the favor thanking your guests for attending.

  • You can use toilet paper rolls for any kind of event or party.

  • For Halloween, stuff the tubes with Halloween treats, wrap them with orange construction paper or black nylon netting and hand these out to trick-or-treaters.
