Step 1
Obtain the ripening agent. Get either an apple or a ripe tomato from your own pantry or from a neighbor. If borrowing it, you can let them know you’ll return it unharmed the next day.

Find the right ripening container. You need a paper bag big enough to hold the bunch of bananas along with the tomato or apple, and to be able to close it completely. You can re-use this bag when the bananas have ripened.

Step 3
Begin the procedure. Insert the bananas into the bag along with the apple or tomato, find a way to close the bag, and leave it at room temperature overnight. Bananas should be ripe by the next day.
