  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

      Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. You can multiply the recipe as much as you like to have extra around to use later.

      Use about one tablespoon of the spice mix for every 16-ounce can of beans or pound of meat you're seasoning.

      Store any extra spice mix in an airtight container; it should keep well for several months.

Tips & Warnings

  • Adjust the amount of chili powder and crushed red pepper flakes to taste, as these ingredients add the heat to the mixture.

  • For a salt-free version, simply omit the salt.
