How to groom fur on Persians paws

It is best to attempt this while your kitten is young. The more often trimming is done the more the kitten becomes conditioned to the sound and feel of the trimmers. I promise it doesn't hurt, but it does tickle and cats hate to be tickled on the feet. Start by trimming the fur in the paw pads, on Persians this fur gets long and cat litter can build up in between the pads where fur is long and cats have a tendency to chew away the litter and swallow the clumps of litter which can cause intestinal problems, once the fur is trimmed in between the pads, trim the fur around the outer edge of the paw and on top of the the paw about 1/4 " past the the tip of paw. This is good grooming for the cat and it looks much nicer than overgrown fur.

• electric beard trimmer without attachment for this job. It is cheaper than pet trimmers

   fur build up in between paw pads of a Persian cat

   Trim the fur in between the paw pads, this is typically where dirt and cat litter can build up if it is not trimmed on a regular basis.

2. 
    
   Trim fur on top of paw

   Next, trim the fur around the outer edge of paw, this outlines Persians pretty petite paws and is good practice for the cleanliness of the Persian.

   Last step trim fur on top of paw

   Last, trim the fur on top of the paw to define the paw. This is simply good grooming habits I do consistently with my Persian
