Things You'll Need:
- Standard sized envelope
- Tissue paper
- Glue stick
- Stamps
- Stamp pads
- Waxed paper
- Iron
-
Step 1
Use a thin knife and slit open a standard sized envelope. There is no particular order to this. Unfold it until it is flat. Use it as a pattern to trace onto a piece of tissue paper.
-
Step 2
Use stamps and stamping ink to embellish the plain tissue paper. Open the stamp pad and hold the handle of the stamp. Bounce it on the ink pad several times until it is covered with stamping ink. Allow the tissue paper to dry thoroughly after you have finished stamping your designs on the paper.
-
Step 3
Cut out the tissue paper pattern and fold it exactly the way the envelope was folded. There is no particular order. Mark crease lines with a light pencil mark if necessary. Glue the side flaps in place, first the left side, and then the right side. The top remains open so you can slide in a note.
-
Step 4
If you wish to put this in the mail you will need to give the tissue paper some stability. Iron it on a silk setting by placing the tissue paper on the waxed side of the butcher paper. No need for a cloth between the iron and the tissue paper. The wax will melt onto the tissue and create a more stable paper. Fold and glue.
