Sanitize the trimmer prior to use. Even if the trimmer has never been used, it is a good idea to sanitize it before use.

Read the instructions that come with your nose trimmer. There are manual and electric nose trimmers. Typically the nose trimmer is turned on and inserted in the nostril as it trims the hair with a rotating blade.

Move the electric or battery-operated trimmer gently in a circular motion over the hair in the nostril. Do not push up into the nose; trim the visible hair by inserting just the tip of the trimmer into the nostril.
