1
Open Photoshop Elements 5.0 program. Click the "View" and then "Organize Photos" icons. Once the next window is open, you click on the "Get Photos" icon on the top toolbar. 3
Select the size for your project using the first option in the drop-down box. If you plan to print your photo layout, choose a standard size that your printer supports, such as 8.5-by-11 inches.
-
4
Select the layout format of your pictures. Only 16 photos will fit on an 8.5-by-11 size paper. In this example, we will use the 16-photo layout. Click on the "16-photo" icon to highlight the option.

Select a theme design for your project. The Preview shows how the pages will look. For this demo, select a simple blue theme. Again, a blue border will surround your selection.
-
6
Select additional options, such as "Auto-Fill," "Include Photo Captions," or the "Number of Pages." If your photos have captions already associated with them, you may want to remove that option before going further.
-
7
Click "OK." The photo layout opens in the Editor. Click and hold onto a photo will allow you to move it to another area within your layout project. Right-clicking on a photo will bring up other options, such as rotating or replacing a photo.

Customize your photos and layout by modifying the design using the "Artworks and Effects" palette on the right of your screen. Choose one of the icons on the right in the "Artworks and Effects" palette to add or change backgrounds and themes. Choose "Special Effects" to change the entire layout to look like a painting or watercolor artwork. Select the "Text" icon to add titles to your project.
