Step 1
Wrapped Wire Place Card Holder
Using wire cutters, cut a length of wire approximately 3 inches longer than the height you want your finished place card holder to be (8 to 9 inches is average). -
Step 2
Grasp the end of the wire tightly with the pliers, holding the wire horizontally.
Hold the wire firmly in one hand and the pliers in the other hand. Slowly turn the pliers clockwise so that the wire wraps around the tip while applying an opposite wrapping motion with the other hand. Wrap the wire two times keeping the strands close and tight around the tip of the pliers. -
Step 3
The wire can be painted or bent in other designs to match your decor. The wire can be placed in a container of sand, gravel, rocks or any type of medium to hold it upright.

Step 4
Bamboo Place Card Holder
Start by placing the length of the bamboo pole onto your cutting table and cut it into pieces approximately 6 inches in length. Lightly sand bottom to remove burrs or splinters if necessary. Cut all of the place card holders you will need at this time. -
Step 5
Holding the 6-inch piece upright, cut a notch across either side of the opposite end, using a slow, firm motion until the cut is approximately a quarter-inch deep. Set the place card into the notched end and decorate as desired.
