How to Stop Sugar Cravings
In many cases sugar cravings are a sign of hormonal imbalances due to a nutritional deficiency in the body. A poor diet or hormonal imbalance can cause you to feel tired, or a little down, thus having low serotonin levels. Carbohydrates, or something sweet will raise your serotonin levels, and cause you to feel better. The problems is your diet has not improved and your serotonin levels will drop again cause a cycle.

Lower sugar intake: For some people, a lack of protein will manifest as sugar cravings. To cut sugar craving, increase the amount of protein in your diet and lower your sugar intake or find sugar substitutes.

Remove sugary foods from the cabinets: Remove temptations from your home, by leave cakes, cookies and ice cream at the store. You can't eat what is not in the house.

When having a craving for sweets, brush your teeth: When you get a sugar craving that you can't shake, brush your teeth and gargle with mouth wash. Mouthwash will probable kill that taste for something sweet.

Healthy substitutes: Replace junk food with healthy snacks, like organic yogurt, or fruit. Eat well balanced healthy meals, easy on the rice and potatoes, because starch converts to sugar in the body.

Eat on time: When you wait too long in between meals, blood sugar levels drop and you will feel the need get a quick sugar hit. Keep a healthy snack on you, like a granola bar or a banana or apple.

Exercise: You will feel better as exercise releases endorphins, which will help decrease sugar cravings and cause you to feel uplifted naturally.
