Step 1
For a better burger, buy ground turkey that has 7% to 10% dark meat. If you have tried turkey burgers before, you might have decided they just weren’t for you. Maybe they were too dry, or they fell apart when you tried to eat them. Or they just didn’t taste good. And, while you want to eat healthy, you don’t want to give up on taste. Well the problem with those earlier turkey burgers might have been that they were all white meat. While burgers made completely of white meat might be lower in fat, a little dark meat makes for a tastier burger that won’t fall apart on you. So, for your turkey burgers, buy ground turkey that is about 7% to 10% dark meat.

Step 2
Season the meat. Unlike beef, turkey can be somewhat lacking in flavor. So, when making your turkey burgers, it’s important to thoroughly season your mixture. Along with salt and pepper, try garlic powder and onion powder. Worcestershire sauce can give your burger tons of flavor, and some hot sauce will give it a spicy kick.

Step 3
Non-stick the grill or pan. Whether you’re grilling your turkey burgers on a grill or frying them in a skillet, you want to do everything to make sure they don’t stick. You can do this by brushing some oil on the grill’s rack, or the bottom of the skillet. (Or you can use a cooking spray if you prefer.) Brushing the burgers with a little oil will also keep them from sticking.

Step 4
Fire up the grill, or, if cooking turkey burgers in a skillet, set your stove to medium high. Once the skillet is hot, place the burgers in the skillet, and cook the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side.
