Maintaining a healthful way of life, is more than exercising and eating well, it is about treating your body good, while embracing and accepting yourself as a whole. Do not wait until you have attained an ideal weight or goal, before noticing what is great about your body. Be encouraged by all successes in your life, this will help you to continue to stay motivated. It is imperative that you are aware of all the steps along the way, so you can feel good about the way you look right now.

It is important to keep in mind that not many people can ever achieve the model standard of beauty. Nevertheless, television shows and magazines barrage us with great abs and thin thighs, which warp our own thoughts of our body. The end result is a feeling of substandard body image that makes us think we do not measure up.

  3. Step 3

Make a deal with yourself this week, to recognize the messages you tell yourself about your body. If they are mostly negative, attempt to replace them with positive thoughts. Say things out loud that you like about your body, look in the mirror and tell yourself everything you like about your body. When you carry a positive body image, you will start to view your body as something exceptional that merits your care and positive awareness.
