Step 1
Open a web browser and go to Google Trends. (http://www.google.com/trends) The page looks quite similar to the normal Google homepage, but the search bar will turn up search statistics rather than web pages.
-
Step 2
Search for several keywords you are comparing. In the search field, enter several keywords you are thinking of using in a title, separated by commas. The search will display how often each term is searched for, giving you a good idea which word is more likely to bring traffic to your article.
-
Step 3
Search hot trends to come up with article ideas. Another useful feature of Google Trends is that they list the top 100 hot trends, which are searches that have suddenly seen a huge increase in popularity. Writing articles on the latest hot trends can bring in an influx of traffic, though oftentimes trends fade quickly, or or not large enough in scale to amount to a lot of views.
