How to Wear a Party Hat Comfortably

Paper party hats with the chin strap add a little fun to any party. There's one little problem. The elastic chin strap for these hats isn't very comfortable. Who wants to have it bothering you for the whole party?

• Party hat
• Party
• Hair

1. 
    
   Not comfortable

   Take your party hat and pull the strap over your head, so it's around your neck.

2. Now rotate the paper hat, so it's in the front like an enormous pendent on a silly necklace.

3. Now anchor the elastic strap under your hair at the back of your neck. If your hair is long, this is easy. If your hair is short, it's worth a try for comfort. Just a little fringe can be enough to hold it in place.

4. Now move the party hat up to the top of your head. Basically the chin strap should now be where a head band would be. This will be much more comfortable.

5. If you like, you can rotate your party hat to one side, at a rakish angle. This of course leaves room for a second hat if you are feeling especially silly.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't forget that the entire point of party hats is to look silly. You're entertaining your fellow guests with comedy and they are entertaining you. If they laugh at you, you're doing a good job.
