Things You'll Need:
- computer
- paper
- pencil
-
Step 1
First prepare a list at home on your computer. Think of things you might see while on the road. Some examples would be a windmill, a flag, some cows (depending where you are traveling), a service station, a boat, McDonalds, tractor, pool. Be as creative as possible and make some a little harder then others.
-
Step 2
After you make a list add some pictures. You can easily add some clip art from your computer. After your list with pictures make a small space on the side so your kids can check off each time they see that item on the trip.
-
Step 3
Pass out your papers on the trip with some pencils. As soon as your child sees something that is on the list they are to put a check mark on it. If you have more than one child the kid that sees it first gets the credit. The child who gets every item on the paper first is the winner.
-
Step 4
This game will occupy their little minds for a portion of your road trip. You can always join in on the fun and play along with your little ones, just make sure to let them win!

on 5/23/2009 This is a wonderful game to keep the kids watching their surroundings, instead of distracting themselves electronically! Thanks for some good old fashioned fun, with a high-tech (pictures) twist!

on 5/23/2009 Great article...I am always looking for great and cheap activities for my neice and nephew because we travel often with them, and I don't think popping in a movie the whole trip is a great thing like many others do...take advantage of the time and make them think! 5 Stars!
