How to Relieve Back Pain If You Are Pregnant
Pregnancy causes all sorts of changes in your body, some of which can be uncomfortable. As the baby grows, your center of gravity moves forward, putting extra strain on your back. Carrying around the extra weight also can make your back hurt. Making adjustments in your exertion levels and posture can help relive some of the back pain.

1
Try to avoid standing for long periods of time. Take frequent breaks. Put one foot on a low stool to shift your weight if you must stand for a long time.
-
2
Wear comfortable shoes and avoid high heels. Wearing high heels or any kind of platform shoe can strain your back even further and throw your posture even more out of alignment.
-
-
3
Bend at the knees when picking something up as opposed to bending over.
-
4
Avoid sleeping on your back. Instead, sleep on your left side with a pillow between your legs to reduce pressure on your lower back.
-
5
Stand up straight. Keep your shoulders parallel with your ears and your bottom tucked in. If your job requires that you sit all day, get a lumbar pillow that you can put on the back of your chair for lower back support. Get a stool you can keep under your desk to raise your legs slightly and relieve the stress on your back. Take frequent breaks to get up to walk around.
