    Making a Pocahontas Costume

  1. Step 1

Buy either a new or used brown dress that fits you well. This dress will be the base of your Pocahontas costume, so make sure you don't mind cutting into the dress. The top of the dress should be rounded around the collar.

  2. Step 2

If the dress is long, cut it so that it is above the knee. Use scissors to add slits in the bottom of the dress.

  3. Step 3

Put the dress on and wrap the leather belt around your waist. Another accessory to add to the dress is a fake hunting knife, which can be tucked under the belt.

  4. Step 4

    Put on moccasins or sandals.

  5. Step 5

Buy a wig made of long, straight black hair, and a leather headband. Put the feather into the headband.

  6. Step 6

Add ankle bracelets made out of beads to either one ankle or both ankles.

  7. Step 7

Add necklaces that have been handmade or store bought.
