Things You'll Need:
- Latch hook
- Hair ties for cornrows
- Loose hair for weave
- A friend
-
Step 1
Wash your hair at most a day before putting in your weave. Slightly dirty hair works best for a weave.
-
Step 2
Have a friend put your hair in cornrows. You can either do this in straight horizontal lines or with concentric circles. Tie off your cornrows and tie off your ends.
-
Step 3
Have your friend push your latch hook through from under the cornrow you created.
-
Step 4
Separate your loose hair into small sections, fold the strand in half and place a section onto your latch hook. If your weave hair comes in a track or sewn together, cut off the sewn edge.
-
Step 5
Lock your latch hook, and pull half of the strand through the cornrow.
-
Step 6
Take your two strands and tie them into a knot to keep your weave strand in place. Some methods may also use glue, but that can become messy.
-
Step 7
Do this for your entire head, working across the braids or in a concentric circle, depending on how you braided them in Step 2.
