Protect your teeth - avoid cavities.

We all know that brushing, flossing, and rinsing with a mouthwash should help prevent cavities. If you want to do more - there are some excellent natural methods than can also help keep your teeth healthy and avoid cavity formation.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Green Tea
  • Fresh Cranberries
  • Apples
  • Aged Cheeses
  1. Step 1

Drink green tea - it's a natural source of fluoride, and is known to prevent plaque and cavity formation. According to some studies, it might even inhibit the growth of some bacteria that cause bad breath.

  2. Step 2

Eat fresh cranberries - they have some compounds that prevent bacteria from sticking to your teeth and gums, and thus can help avoid cavities.

  3. Step 3

Eat apples - they increase saliva flow and wash away sugars from your teeth, which helps to reduce bacteria build up. Therefore it's an especially good idea to eat an apple after a meal, if you can't brush your teeth right away.

  4. Step 4

Eat aged cheeses, like gouda, cheddar, provolone, and others - they have high levels of calcium and phosphorus, and can help strengthen the teeth, which in turn helps avoid cavities.
