Spray tanning is a popular alternative to tanning beds and will give you quick results. Learn how to make your color last longer.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Exfoliate before getting sprayed. You should do it the day before and the day of your spray tan to get rid of your dead skin cells. A loofah and an exfoliating body wash works fine for this.

  2. Step 2

Make sure that your skin is moisturized before your tan, but do not apply any kind of lotion or moisturizer to the skin the day that you get sprayed. The color will not stick to your skin as well.

  3. Step 3

Keep skin moisturized after the tan. Dry skin will result in uneven color.

  4. Step 4

Avoid exfoliation after the tan. Its great to exfoliate before the tan, but afterwards it will only make the color go away faster.

  5. Step 5

Use a tinted body lotion daily. Several different brands have these available and using them will add a slight bit of color to your skin and help your healthy glow last longer. Just make sure that you get the right lotion for your skin tone.
