How to Turn a Photo Into a Cartoon

How to Turn a Photo Into a Cartoonthumbnail
The original photo.

I've been building web sites and blogs on the web for a long time. As I am now becoming more active in forums I wanted to find a way to transform a picture of me into a cartoon.

After searching the web I finally found a free and easy to use website that can turn photos into cartoons.

        Befunky upload utility.

Select the method for uploading a photo - you can chose from 'Upload from computer', 'Upload via Webcam', 'Upload from URL' or 'Upload from Photo Sharing Site' - I used the webcam method to take an instant picture. The method is very easy for all choices - I have also tried loading from Flickr and from my hard-drive without any problems.

        Befunky first draft.

Befunky will now funkify your picture based on the initial application you chose in Step 2 - you can now change the application or modify the settings for your chosen application. If you are happy with the results then skip to Step 8- in my case I wanted to continue and change the results.

        More editing

I amended the settings in two ways. Firstly I click the 'Line Artopia' to change the application (using the icons on the left); then I click the second icon from the left on the 'Outline your Life' icons on the top.

        Befunky fun stuff

I decided to have more fun, so I clicked on the Goodies icon at the bottom. Using these options you can add speech bubbles, fun stuff, borders etc. I added some funky elves. (In the final photo I just added text and removed most of the funky stuff!).
