Things You'll Need:
- time
- patience
-
Step 1
Determine the maximum price you are willing to spend on hotels during your stay in Paris and divide it by the number of nights you will need a hotel. This will give you a general price per night that you should be looking for when searching for a hotel in Paris. Or, simply determine a price per room you are willing to pay. Also, take note of any necessities you are looking for in a hotel, such as an elevator or hair dryers, things that might affect the price of a hotel in Paris.
-
Step 2
LocalityLocality. If you want to stay near the Eiffel Tower or in the center of Paris, be prepared to pay the price. The cheapest hotels are located along the perimeter of the city, in quieter neighborhoods. Hotels located on the periphery of Paris are about a 20 minute metro ride to the center, so do take that into account as well. Metros stop running at around 12:30 pm and therefore if you are staying further from the center of Paris, you will have to either take a taxi (could be up to 20 euros) or call it an early night.
-
Step 3
SeasonSeason. The season in which you choose to travel to Paris in also is a hotel price determinant. Prices for hotels in Paris during the high seasons, such as spring and summer (although some would argue that the high season is all year round), can double from low seasons. Take note of any long weekend holidays which will occur during the duration of your stay. Travel within Europe is becoming cheaper and therefore a lot of Europeans take advantage of cheap flights and may book up cheap hotels during a long holiday weekend.
-
Step 4
TimingTiming. To get the best and cheapest hotel in Paris book in advance, months in advance. The earlier you book a hotel in Paris the more likely you are to find an available room in a cheaper hotel. Timing is everything, especially since Paris is one of the top travel destinations in the world.
-
Step 5
ResearchResearch. Do a web search for ‘cheap hotels in Paris’ or ‘cheap hotels Paris’ or ‘Paris cheap hotels’. Vary the wording of you search and you might get results for new sites with cheap hotel listings that you didn’t receive in the last search. (Try websites such as the ones provided in Resources, below the article.)
-
Step 6
AdventureAdventure. If you happen to be backpacking through Paris or planned your trip to Paris in the last moment and didn’t find any cheap hotels and want to stay within the city perimeters you can also try to find a cheap hotel upon arrival. Not all hotels have websites, especially cheaper ones that may have less than 10 rooms. If you are feeling adventurous and want to explore Paris while looking for a cheap hotel try looking in the following Paris quarters: 8 (Pigalle) ,9, 18 (Montmarte), 20.
