With 3 simple, inexpensive items you can have your own Laundry Detergent. You can get up to 180 loads with 1 batch!! Which comes out to about $2.00 per batch. This is worth it!!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fels-Naptha Bar Soap (or Regular Bar Soap), Borax (or Oxi) and Washing Soap
  1. Step 1

    Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap- Front or Top Loading Machine
    Large Bucket with lid
    4 Cups hot water
    1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
    1 Cup Washing Soda
    ½ Cup Borax or Oxi
    5 Gallons of water

  2. Step 2

    Grate the bar soap into small pieces. Heat up 4 cups of water until boiling. Add bar soap and whisk. Stir on med-high heat until completely dissolved. It takes about 5 mins.

  3. Step 3

    Fill 5 gallon bucket 1/2 full with water. Add dissolved bar soap to mixture. Stir.

  4. Step 4

    Measure out the washing soda and Borax. Add to bucket mixture and stir until dissolved. Fill bucket an inch from the top with more warm water.

    Put a lid on it and let sit over night. If you would like to use an old liquid dispenser container you can dilute the soap with 1/2 detergent to 1/2 water and shake to use. Otherwise you can use 1/2 cup of detergent per large load of laundry.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can these items in the cleaning/laundry aisle of a well stocked Grocery Store. You can also find them online.
  • avoid heavily scented bar soap
