1. The first weekend getaway idea I have is a houseboat vacation. Most people are within 5-7 hours of a lake that rents out houseboats for the weekend. I highly recommend this! Grab a few friends and prepare for a nice relaxing secluded weekend. They offer houseboats of all sizes that sleep from 8-16 people comfortably.

2. The second weekend getaway idea I recommend is a Haunted Hotel. Most states have a small town containing that haunted hotel. 90% of the time these hotels have many different shops in the nearby areas that you can visit in the daytime. If your no a nick-nack person there are probably plenty of parks that you can visit as well. When you book the room make sure to ask for the room with the most haunted activity!

3. The third weekend getaway idea I recommend is a winery tour. This does not require a trip to California. Most states have a local winery and offer tour packages. Go alone, with your significant other or a group of friends. Enjoy good conversation and relaxation.
