Fruit cobblers, also known by many other names, including crisps, torts, buckles and bird's nest pudding, have been a staple of American cuisine since colonial times. In fact, early Americans enjoyed fruit cobbler so much it was not uncommon for a blueberry cobbler such as this recipe to be the main course at breakfast. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • Mixing bowl
  • 8-inch by 8-inch baking pan

Instructions

      Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine a cup of sugar, a cup of flour, and a cup of water in a mixing bowl Stir for about two minutes to get most of the lumps out.

      Pour the mixture into an 8-inch by 8-inch baking pan.

      Spread 2 cups of blueberries into the baking pan.

      Cook the blueberry cobbler for 50 minutes. Check the cobbler: If it's golden brown it's done; if not, cook for additional time until it is golden brown. Allow five minutes to cool and serve.
